Côtes du Rhône Chevalier d'AnthelmeA remarkable wine
The point of view of “Guide Hachette des Vins 2016”« Clearly, one of the best value for money among Côtes-du-Rhône selected this year. This vintage, named in memory of a Carthusian monks farm, is the excellent result of a constant questioning about plot selections and the use of the latest technology by Antoine Gomez, the cellar master, and Frédéric Sablayrolles, the oenologist. Both men are the creators of a dark and deep Grenache (80%) and Syrah wine, very elegant with its black fruits and violet aromas, full, corpulent and very well structured thanks to round and velvety tannins. This wine is a model of controlled power and can be savoured young as well as polished after having been kept for ageing ”.
Between Languedoc and Provence…We combine tradition and innovation…splendid land growing gorgeous grapes
70 vine-growers work 500 hectares of vineyards producing Vins de Pays and Côtes du Rhône, Côtes du Rhône villages Laudun and Cru Lirac appellation wines. Our Côtes du Rhône wines are made from grapes grown on soils covered with rolled river pebbles, located on the hills overlooking the Pujaut plain. The plain is the site of former lakes which has since dried, and produce our “Vin de Pays du Gard”. In recent years, new vines have been planted to produce varietal wines such as Cabernet-Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot for reds, and Sauvignon, Viognier and Chardonnay for the whites.
